Mary Conrad, 80, of Melcher-Dallas died of a heart ailment Thursday at home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Melcher-Dallas, of which she was a member. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Mrs. Conrad was born in Beverly, Mass., and had lived in the Melcher-Dallas at 48 years. She was a homemaker and a member of her church's altar and rosary society. She had been a volunteer with Central Iowa Hospice and the Democratic party.
She is survived by her husband, Duane "Buck"; a daughter, Becky Conrad of Winterset; three sons, Kelly of Ottumwa, Jim of Papillion, Neb., and Chris of Centerville; five sisters, Peggy Cornwell of Phoenix, Phyllis Hohensee of Fort Dodge, Irene Wolfe of Pocahontas, Helen Whirlow Drury, Mo., and Norma Weeks of Knoxville; and nine grandchildren.
Friends may call after 11 a.m. today at Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Melcher-Dallas, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. and where a rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Central Iowa Hospice or her church's building fund.
