Born February 15, 1923, to Wynn and Emma Ward Clayton, she was raised by Don and Verlie Ward following her mothers death. She graduated from Box Elder High School as Valedictorian and graduated from Dee School of Nursing in 1944. She later retired after 30 years as a public health nurse and school nurse for Davis County.
