Mabel M. Fowler, 92, of Charleston died at 6:30 a.m. April, 21, 2000, at Prarie View Care Center.

Mrs. Fowler was born Feb. 6, 1908, in Effingham County, daughter of John and Ida (Enderbroch) Harlan. She married Charles Fowler in 1947. He died in 1974.

She was a cementer for Brown Shoe Co., and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She attended Wesley United Methodist Church and Rebekahs Lodge.

Survivors include, a daughter, Lowell (Judy) Gillespie of Charleston; a stepdaughter, Jennie Lou Rodgers of Lake Luzern, N.Y.; a brother, Owen Harlan of California; two sisters, Florence Craig, Charleston, and Margaret Prince, Charleston; four grandchildren; nine stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren and several great-stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
