Veteran of the American Revolution -- Private in Capt.Lawrence Kemp's Company, Col. David Well's Regiment.


He married, first, at Woodstock,CT on Jul 5,1757, Mercy Fox. She was a daughter of Thomas Fox and Mercy (Lawrence) Fox.


He married, second, at Charlemont,MA on Jan 13,1795, widow Ruth Read/Rice of Charlemont.


He married, third, intentions at Colrain,MA on Jan 5,1807, Molly Tower. She was born about 1765, daughter of Peter Tower and Deborah (Stowell) Tower of Cummington,MA. She married, second, Capt James McClellan, and she died at Colrain on Oct 8,1854.


Children(by first marriage): Mercy Johnson Hawks, Harriet/Hannah Johnson Avery, Isaac Johnson, Fanny Johnson Call, William Johnson, Asa Johnson, Mercy Johnson Smith, Thomas Johnson, Minnie Johnson, Jemima Johnson Ward, Thomas Johnson, Moses Johnson Jr, Lemuel Johnson, and Lucy Johnson.
