Married first to Anna Lillian Doyle on February 7, 1921. Together they had a son, Roy R Rule.
William then married Edith A Allison on March 26, 1931 in Red Lodge, Carbon County, Montana. Together they had 4 children: Rose Marie, Clarence Thomas, Larry, Laura Darlene.

Gallatin Gateway - Funeral service for William T Rule Jr., age 70 retired Gallatin Gateway area rancher who died at his home Tuesday will be at 2 pm Friday at the Fromberg Methodist Church. The Rev Kirk Dewey, Billings will officiate. Burial will be in Rockvale Cemetery, Dokken Nelson Sunset Chapel, Bozeman is in Charge.
He was born March 23, 1897 in Roberts, He was a veteran of World War I when he served in the US Army in France.
After his discharge he moved to Pryor. He married Edith Allison, March 26 1932 in Red Lodge. They lived in Pryor until 1944 when they moved to McLeod. They moved to Sheridan in 1960 and in 1963 moved to Gallatin Gateway.
He was a member of American Legion, Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite Bodies and The Shrine.
Surviving are the widow; two sons, Larry Rule, Sheridan and Clarence Rule, Butte; a daughter, Mrs. Charles Lagge of Dickinson, ND; a brother Corwin Rule of Bridger; three sisters, Mrs William Hammond and Mrs. Elizabeth Bennett, both of Los Angeles, CA and Mrs. Elva Clifton of Worland, Wyoming and nine grandchildren.
