Campbell was the only son. He and his wife (Tennie) lived on the original Brindley homestead that his father Benjamin Franklin Brindley earned with his land bounty for his service in the Mexican War. Benjamin named his only son after his Col. William Baldwin Campbell who he serve with.
Campbell farmed the land with his father, while his wife took care of the home and Campbell's mother Mary
There is a mistake about his name on other sites. They have him, as David Campbell Brindley. Do to a mistake on the 1900 census. If viewed close up you can see numbers written over the name Cam (his nick name) and some believe it says David. We have the Brindley family bible and it says Campbell. We have tried many times to get it corrected to no avil, so I'm putting it here so it is correct here.
Thank you to all the wonderful people that visit this memorial as you well know it means a lot.
