Mrs. Margaret Alice Barnes, 92, Hobbs, died at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, at the home of her son, Ray, after a one year illness. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday from the Leatherman-Morris Funeral Home with Rev. Dale Linhart officiating and burial will be in Elwood cemetery. Friends may call anytime at the Leatherman-Morris Funeral Home.

Mrs. Barnes was born Sept 1, 1868 in Hamilton county, daughter of Henry and Rhoda (Achenbach) Hartman. She was married Aug 8, 1897 to Charles A. Barnes and resided since that time in Anderson and Hobbs. Her husband preceded her in death May 19, 1942. She attended Tipton county schools and the Hobbs Methodist church.

Surviving are four children: Arthur of Hobbs, Ray of Tipton, Mrs. Loval Davis of Kokomo and Otto of Tipton; a brother, William Hartman of Hobbs and a sister, Mrs. Sadie Smith of Elwood; 6 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
