She was born March 16, 1903 in Velva, ND, the daughter of Emile and Agnes (Sholden) Roulier. She was reared and educated in Velva.

She married Bert Breiland on June 20, 1924 in Velva. The couple farmed in the Velva area for a short time before moving into Velva. Yetive worked at the Sands and Gunnerud Hardware Store and then for Faulk's Super Value, Velva. Bert died in 1953. Yetive continued to make her home in Velva until 1991, when she entered the Good Samaritan Center in Bottineau.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bert; one infant daughter, her parents; brother, Lester Roulier; sisters, Mae Zuehlasdorf, Edna Anderson and Ione Hansen.
