Addie Chilton Hunter May 9, 1914 - January 21, 2011 Biography OBITUARY Pilot Mountain PILOT MOUNTAIN Mrs. Addie Chilton Hunter, age 96, of Pilot Mountain, died Friday, January 21, 2011 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born May 9, 1914 in Surry County to the late Cyrus Augustus & Anna (Suzanna) Chilton. Mrs. Hunter was a homemaker and a member of Westfield Friends Meeting. She was devoted to the Quaker faith and had a deep Quaker heritage. Mrs. Hunter graduated from Copeland High School with an interest in Home Economics. She shared equally in all aspects of the family farm; loved gardening and quilting. Mrs. Hunter was keenly interested in her community. During her many years of being confined to her home, Addie left everyone who visited her with a special feeling. She is survived by her daughters & son-in-law: Gail Dee Hodgin & husband J. Phal; Pleasant Garden & Cindy Hunter; Charlotte, NC; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces & nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hunter was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Harvey A. Hunter; son, Harold A. Hunter; sisters, Nellie Chilton, Mattie Mills & Pearl Wood and brother, Ervin Chilton. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, January 23, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Westfield Friends Meeting conducted by Rev. James Parker with interment to follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the fellowship hall immediately following the service. Mrs. Hunter will be placed in the Meeting House one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103, Westfield Friends Meeting, 3161 Old Westfield Road, Pilot Mountain, NC 27041 or to a charity of the donors choice.
