Alonzo Shepherd age 87 of Hager Hill, Kentucky passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2009 at the Riverveiw Healthcare Center in Prestonsburg, Ky. He was born Sptember 21, 1921 at Martin, Ky. the son of the late Bill Whitaker and Sarah Shepherd. He was a retired coal miner.
He is survived by Sons; Roy Shepherd of McDowell, Ky., Bobby Shepherd of Martin, Ky., Ray Shepherd of Rogersville, Tenn. Step Sons: William Conn of Martin,Ky. and Elmo Kilbert of New Haven, Conn. Daughters: Mary Patton and Myrtle Page both of McDowell, Ky., Wanda Horton of Hager Hill, Ky. and Helen Vance of Drift, Ky.
He was prededed in death by: the wife, Madie Conn Shepherd, Son, Cecil Shepherd and daughter, Betty Hall.
Funeral Services: Saturday, July, 25, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel at Martin, Ky. with Denver Meade and Shawn Blair officiating. Burial in the Shepherd Cemetery at Martin, Ky. The family chose Hall Funeral Home to care for the arrangements.
