Albert "Bugs" Ford Jr., 85, of Russellville, AR, died Saturday, January 29, 2011 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville. The son of Henry and Myrtle Lee Jones Ford, he was born July 26, 1925 in Russellville. He entered the US Navy, serving in the Pacific Theatre with the 140th Naval Construction Battalion (Navy Seabees). Following the war, Albert and Kathern Kinman were married, making their home in Russellville. He worked for almost 20 years for as a dragline operator for Peabody Coal Company. He later started his own excavation company, Al Ford Backhoe Service. He was a member of the Russellville Masonic Lodge, #274 and Calvary Temple. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Kathern Ford, Russellville; 2 sons, Michael Ford, M.D., Arkadelphia, Steve Ford, Springdale; step Daughter, Mary Chick and husband, Bob, Rogers; a special grandson, John Dewayne Carpenter & wife Laura, Russellville; 4 other grandchildren, Larry James Carpenter, Lorenda Sue Carpenter and George Wesley Carpenter, all of Rogers, Lisa Carpenter, Nevada,; 13 great grandchildren, including Albert Bryan Carpenter of Russellville; 9 great great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Harper & husband, Ray, Russellville.

Funeral will be at 2:00PM, Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at Calvary Temple. Rev. Devoe Campbell, Bobby Wilson, and Billy Duffield will officiate. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery in Russellville. Full military honors will be provided by the Rogers-Rye Post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Visitation will be from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm, on Tuesday, at the funeral home.
