Gertrude W. Miner, 90, formerly of 17 Pickering St., Sheffield, died at 10:15 a.m., Tuesday, January 2010 at the Warren Manor following a brief illness. She born on April 27, 1919 in Mayburg to the late Rollin and Wilda Deshner Wilson. Gertrude was a lifelong resident of the area. She worked as a secretary and receptionist at Betts Industries and was a member of the Sheffield United Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband G. Edward Miner, whom she married on March 13, 1937; one brother, Jack Wilson; one grandson, Timothy Townley; and her parents. Gertrude is survived by two daughters, Constance "Connie" Townley, Homer City, Pa.; and Judith "Judy" Shaffer, Tiona; two brothers, William "Bill" Wilson, Sheffield and Richard "Dick" Wilson, Elkton, Fla.; a sister, Marian Darling, North Warren; six grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews
