Year—Was Born in Germany.

The funeral of Jacob Kreischer, well known candy manufacturer, took place this afternoon from his home, 20 Euclid avenue. The Rev. H. William Mueller, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran church where Mr. Kreischer was an active member for a number of years, officiated. Burial was in Eagle Hill cemetery.

Mr. Kreischer, who died Friday, was in his 83rd year and was one of Albany's most highly esteemed citizens. He was born in Germany. He came to Albany in the early 50's and engaged in the candy business, and continued in that capacity up to the time of his death. Mr. Kreischer conducted a large candy establishment at Washington avenue and Swan street for several years. Some of his employes had been working for him for 45 years. He was a staunch Republican and a member of the committee of thirteen.

He married Miss Magdalena Holler of Albany in 1865 [or 1863?]. She was a daughter of Jacob Holler, well known contractor.

Mr. Kreischer presented the bell to St. Paul's Lutheran church in 18[81?] in memory of his parents. He leaves two sons, Jacob H. and Gustave A. Kreischer; two daughters, Mrs. Catherine M. Jagels and Mrs. Charlotte M. Sutermeister, and three grandchildren, Arnold K. and Charles Sutermesiter and W. Howard Jagels, all of Albany, and one brother, Louis Kreischer, living in Germany.
