The funeral of Mrs. William McGinnis, who died Thursday night of the last week from a severe attack of la grippe, occurred at the M.E. Church, Sunday, at 3:00 p.m. She was in her 80th year, and had lived on her home farm, east of Roanoke, for more than 50 years. Her husband was a captain in the 75th Indiana regiment volunteers, and died in Libby Prison. Three sons in the same family were in the late war.
The William McGinnis Post, GAR, by request of the deceased, conducted the obsequies, and Rev. F.A. Robinson, a member of the same, preached the sermon. Six of the nine children living, were present at the funeral. The attendance was large, the church being crowded to overflowing.
