Catherine BOOTS was born in Ohio, 16 May 16 1828 to Joseph and Catherine (PETERSON) BOOTS both of whom emigrated to Ohio from Rockbridge Co., Virginia. Catherine was 8th in birth order of 9 children.
Hers siblings were:
- Elizabeth Ann BOOTS
- Eli W. BOOTS
- Hiram BOOTS
- Edmund BOOTS
- Mary BOOTS
- William BOOTS
- Lewis Selaska BOOTS
- Martha Jane Boots
Catherine was 20 years old when she married John Nicholas TRESSLER-TRESSLAR on 7 November 1848 in Greene County, Ohio and they had 10 children, 6 of whom lived to adulthood.
Pioneer live was hard and Catherine and Joseph suffered the loss of Edith Ann at age 13, Sarah Ellen, Ada Irene, and Minea Alice all died in infancy.
The other children who graced their lives were Mary Jane, Emma Samantha, Granville J. "Jesse", Albert Dennis, Frank Lester, and Flora Mae TRESSLER.
