John Bell, 64, of 206 Russie Avenue, Bentleyville, died at 12:25 p.m. Monday, August 3, 1987, in Washington Hospital.
He was born May 18, 1923, in Slovan, a son of John and Elsie Hanna Bell.
He was Protestant and was a lifelong resident of the Bentleyville Ellsworth area.
Mr. Bell was a retired coal miner, having been employed by Beth Energy Mines Inc., Mine No. 51 of Ellsworth. He was a member of United Mine Workers of America, Local 1197 of Cokeburg.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving as a Private First Class with the 11th Airborne Division.
On September 12, 1942 he married Frances L. Ball, who survives.
Also surviving are four sons, John W. Ball of McKeesport, Milton E. Bell of Ellsworth, Walter A. Bell of Washington, and Clint S. Bell of Bentleyville; three daughters, Mrs. Alex (Pamela Jane) Bohnak of Donora, Debra C. Bell of Waynesburg, and Mrs. Ross (Cindy L) Denman of Eighty Four R.D.4; 14 grandchildren; two brothers, George Bell of Buffalo, N.Y., and Walter Bell; and several nieces and nephews.
A brother, Tommy Bell, and a sister, Mary Bell, are deceased.
