Ruby Geraldine Painter, 93, died Sunday, March 28, 2004, in Northampton Convalescent Center. She was a native of Henrico County. Mrs. Painter was a member of Park Place Baptist Church, Ladies of the Moose Chapter 157 and Park Place Garden Club.
Her husband, Clifford Painter, and her daughter, Carolyn Painter Drake, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her son, Stuart A. Vest and his wife, Katherine of Poquoson; a brother, Ralph Crostic of Richmond; six grandchildren, Teresa Crawford and her husband Bob of Hampton, Stuart A. Vest Jr. and his wife Sharon of Newport News, Timothy Vest and his wife Laura and Christopher Vest and his wife Laurie of Poquoson, Tad Vest and his wife Kristie of York County and Norman Drake and his wife Susie of Virginia Beach; and 12 great-grandchildren.
We would like to say thank you to the nurses at Northampton Convalescent Center, especially Joy and Cindy who worked tirelessly to care for Nana.
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, with the Rev. Terry Spencer officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Park Place Baptist Church, 31st Street and Colonial Avenue, Norfolk, VA 23509.
