K on 8 Nov 1862 at Linden, Perry County, Tennessee. He appears on the hospital muster roll on 31 Aug 1863 at Lauderdale, Mississippi. The record does not show anything other than he was a patient there. The Company Muster Roll for 20 Oct 1863 shows him at Camp Cummings, Alabama. During the Battle of Franklin in Williamson County, Tennessee, 30 Nov 1864, Elijah Houston Whitwell lost his life, fighting to defend the honor of his state and his family. He was survived by his wife and four children, both his parents, and his six brothers and sisters.
