Funeral services were held on July 21 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flensburg with Rev. Leo Otto officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
Joseph was born Feb. 22, 1901 in Swan River Township, Morrison County, to Joseph and Rose (Super) Koroll. The family surname was shortened over time to Korll.
Joe married Anna Fedor on June 15, 1926 at Sacred Heart Church in Flensburg. She passed away May 6, 1972. Joseph then married Mary Erdrich on June 19, 1974 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Little Falls.
During his life he worked at the State Bank of Flensburg and, beginning in 1941, at the American National Bank in Little Falls, retiring in 1966. He had made his home in the Flensburg area all of his life. Joseph was a member and trustee of Sacred Heart Church, and received the Bishops Medal of Merit in 1981. He was an officer for the Village of Flensburg for over 60 years, member of the Flensburg School Board (District # 63) for 50 years, and served on the Tri-County Mental Health Board. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Anna; one infant son, James; one daughter, Patricia; and three sisters.
Survivors include his wife Mary, daughters Mrs. Sylvester (Geralyn) Wotzka of Little Falls and Mrs. Robert (Iris) Surma of St. Cloud, plus sisters Marie Anderson and Pauline Doucette, both of Little Falls.
Pallbearers were Greg, Lee and Michael Surma, Paul and Tim Wotzka and Tom Rutz.
