Minnie E. Closson
Miss. Minnie E. Closson passed away Friday morning at the Meader Convalescent Home, East Lebanon, where she had been since May. She was born in Lyme, N.H., Aug. 22, 1873, the daughter of Zadock H. and Ellen (Rice) Morrison. After her mother's second marriage to Rev. Josiah Taylor Closson, while she was still a small girl, her name was changed to Closson and she resided in several Vermont towns where her step-father held pastorates, later coming to Center Lebanon. She attended schools in Vermont and Lebanon and Lebanon Academy, after which she was a clerk in Fairlee, Vt., stores and later taught school in Lebanon. She served as church oranist for years at both Firlee, Vt., and West Lebanon. She has made her home in West Lebanon with her sister for many years. She leaves one sister, Mrs. Charles B. Goodwin of West Lebanon; four nieces, Miss. Marjorie E. Goodwin, also of West Lebanon; Mrs. Harold B. Stanley of Milton, N.H., Mrs. Chester P. Lorenz of Pittsfield, Mass., and Mrs. Robert J. Hodsdon of Yarmouth, Me., and one Cousin, Mrs. Julia B. Merrill of Pittsford, Vt. Funeral services were held in the West Lebanon Free Baptist church Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock, Rev. Thurber R. Weller of Gorham, Me., a former pastor, officiating, and the interment was in the Goodwin family cemetery. R. M. Edgerly and Son of Rochester had charge of the funeral arrangements. Norman D. Meader was organist for the service. The bearers were Ralph H. Betts of West Lebanon, Charles H. Bearborn of South Lebanon, Arthur H. Stackpole of River Road, Lebanon, and Robert V. Stackpole of West Lebanon.
