Frank Monteforte was born September 6, 1893 in Cala Sciobata, Italy to Vito & Starazzante Margnerita Monteforte. Frank came to America when he was six years old with his father. Later his father returned to Sicilia but Frank remained in the United States. In order to make a living, Frank sold newspapers on the street in New York and later in Chicago.
Then he was able to get a job with the Railroad and came to Nebraska. He met Clara Mary Ortmeier and they were married at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Monterey, NE September 18, 1934. To this union eight children were born. They lived in Olean, NE after they were married.
Surviving is his wife, Clara, daughters; Hermina Jones, Margaret (David) Ellis, Marion (Richard) Jasper, Martha (Joe) Siedlik, Rita, and sons; Herman, Frank, Jr., and Joseph. Burial taking place at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery in Snyder.
