Catharine H. Dalby, 82, died Thursday at 8:35 a.m. in her residence at 1137 N. Ninth St Her husband, Ralph C. Dalby, died Oct 8,1993. Born in St. Lawrence, she was a daughter of the late Simon and Estella (Rhoads) Hoch. Dalby had been employed 60 years as a waitress and was last employed by the West Reading Hotel and Restaurant, retiring in 1988. She was a 1935 graduate of Oley High School. She was a member of St. Thomas United Church of Christ, Reading. Surviving are a son, Leo P. McKenna, and a daughter, Elise K. (McKenna) Schiavone, both of Reading. Other survivors include a sister, Ruth (Hoch) Hauer, Fredericksburg, Lebanon County; and a brother, Earl Hoch, Reading. There are also two grandchildren and a great-grandson. Services will be private. Burial will be private in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton.
