SARAH CLARK
---The death of Mrs. Henry O. Clark at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Collins Spencer, five miles southeast of La Plata Tuesday morning marked the passing of another pioneer of this community.
---Sarah Clarisse Emmons was born near Elyria, Ohio, October 6, 1845. She came to Macon County with her parents when twelve years of age and they settled on what is now the George Bragg farm west of town. She married August 8, 1865 to Henry O. Clark who father owned much of the land where La Plata now stands. Mr. and Mrs. Clark resided on a farm southeast of here until they came to town twenty-one years ago. Mr. Clark preceded her in death about two years ago.
---In 1885 both Mr. and Mrs. Clark united with the Cumberland Presbyterian Church which later was united with what is now the Community Presbyterian Church.
---The funeral was from that church, conducted by an old friend and former pastor, Rev. Johnson, of Callao, assisted by Rev. Jackson of this place.
---Three sons and two daughters are living and were present at the end. They are L.B. Clark, Great Falls, Montana, T.E. Clark, Paul, Idaho, H.O. Clark, Kansas City, Mrs. John Spencer, La Plata and Mrs. W.J. Van Pelt, Lostina, Oregon.
