Dorothy L. Burgener, 80, of Olney, died at 8:51 a.m. Monday, February 14, 2011, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind.

Burial will be in Crest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery in rural Claremont,

Dorothy was born January 1, 1931, in Olney, the daughter of William and Opal (Jayne) Hunley. She married Herman Wayne Burgener on July 11, 1948, in West Liberty. He survives.

She was a member of Church of the Nazarene in Olney. She worked as a timekeeper at Roadmaster, and was a wife, daughter, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be sadly missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.

Dorothy is survived by her husband of 62 years, Herman Wayne Burgener, of Olney; son, Donald Wayne Burgener, of Olney; sister, Betty Watters, of Chillicothe; three grandchildren, Ed Burgener, of Olney, Jason Burgener and his wife, Katie of Boston, Mass., and Sherrie Seals, of Glendale, Texas; one stepgrandchild, Jason Mink, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Opal Hunley; son, Larry Duane Burgener; and half-brother, Virgil Barthelemy.
