MARGARET C. BENNETT
Mrs. Margaret Cahoon Bennett wife of John R. Bennett died at the family home in Deseret last Thursday evening after a lingering illness. Mrs. Bennett was the daughter of Daniel and Martha Cahoon and was born at Cottonwood February 5th, 1864. She came to Deseret when a small child and had resided there ever since. She was married to John R. Bennett October 9, 1884 in the old Endowment House in Salt Lake City. She was an active church and community worker, president of the primary for thirteen years and worked in the stake Relief Society and in the Genealogical Society for a number of years. She was the mother of nine children and besides her husband, she is survived by four sons and one daughter, John A., Gerald S., Lawrence Bennett of Deseret, Leslie of Los Angeles and May Petty of Nephi and twenty one grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
