John H. Scholten, 73, of Hull died Monday, May 10 in a Sioux City hospital.
Services were at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the First Christian Reformed Church in Hull. The Rev. Marvin Heyboer officiated. Burial was in Hope Cemetery.
Family visitation was from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Kraai Funeral Home at Hull.
Mr. Scholten was born Nov. 8, 1908, in Boyden.
He married Anna Gerritsen in 1941 at Pender, Neb. They made their home in Hull where he was a sheep shearer for 41 years.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Marvin J. of Maurice and Norman W. of Sheldon; one daughter, Miss Janice Ann of Ellendale, N.D.; seven sisters, Mrs. Richard (Jennie) Berkenpas of Sioux Center, Mrs. Adolph (Paulline) Bliek of Rock Valley, Mrs. Bert (Cornelia) Berkenpas of West Branch, Mrs. Arthur (Martha) Zanstra and Mrs. James (Artis) Collins, both of Grand Rapids, Mich., Mrs. Henry J. (Arlyna) Vande Griend of Hull, and Mrs. Henry (Marie) Sneller of Doon; two brothers, Adrian of Sioux Center and Morris of Portland, Ore. And seven grandchildren.
