Jehu John Sikes, b. abt 1796 in either Montgomery or Bulloch Co., GA; d. between 1870 and 1893 in Tattnall County, GA, married Sarah "Sallie" DeLoach, and had 6 children.

1. John W. Sikes, Jr., b. 04 Jun 1829 Tattnall Co., GA; d. 09 Sep 1893, buried in section I of this cemetery, beside his wife Penelope ELDERS, and their son John Hoyt Sikes.

2. Harriet Sikes, b. abt. 1830

3. Thomas Hilton Sikes, b. 14 Jun 1832 Tattnall Co., GA; d. 1909

4. William W. Sikes, b. 15 May 1837 Tattnall Co., GA; d. 1904.

5. Martha A. Sikes, b. 12 Mar 1840, Tattnall Co., GA

6. Daniel Webster Sikes, b. 15 Mar 1843 Tattnall Co., GA; d. 1916

Sallie was a d/o John H. DELOACH & Elizabeth Durrence DeLoach. John H., a Revolutionary war Soldier, is buried in the Beard's Creek Church Cemetery, Tattnall Co., GA; Sect. C-3.

Note: Elizabeth Durrence was a daughter of Welcome William Durrence, a pioneer settler of the Bulloch/Tattnall/Liberty County area of Georgia. He was born in 1737 in North Carolina, one of two sons of Samuel Durrance.
