"Arthur Stuart Aplin was born in Hicking Co., Ohio, September 6, 1852. For eight years prior to him becom ing a doctor he was a public school teacher in Iowa. In the meantime he had commenced reading medicine under Dr. J. C. Corselius. He afterward entered the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Keokuk, Iowa and graduated in a class of 120 i n1879. He at once commenced pracicing under his old instructor, Dr. J.C. Corselius, of Galesburg, Iowa, contuining until 1881 , when he went to Red Rock, Iowa, and a year later came to Cambridge. He was married on December 13, 1888 to Miss Sylvia Bossuot, a native of Cambridge. They were the parents of two daughter and a son.
Dr. Aplin was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Woodsman's Lodge of Cambridge. He also served as health officer for Cambridge.
Dr. Aplin died February 19, 1900 and is buried next to his parents in the Cambridge Cemetery."
