Francis was born in Chicago to August Tomaszewski (1835 to about 1882) and Agnes Superczynski (1841 to 1914). Both parents were baptized in Slawno Parish, Gniezno, Wielkopolskie, Poland, and married there on 16 Nov 1861. They immigrated to Chicago during 1873 with two sons, John age and Valentine aka Alex age 5.. August died in Chicago about 1882 and his burial place is unknown. Soon thereafter the widow Agnes and her children moved to Morrison County where she had three Superczynski (Super) brothers from Poland.
Francis married Joseph Zuppa (later changed to Copa) on 25 Nov 1889 in Sobieski, then called Swan River.
Sacred Heart Church death records have Francisca Copa, died at age 49 of tuberculosis, on 10 Jan 1923. She was buried in the old cemetery on 12 Jan 1923.
The Little Falls Daily Transcript of Wed., 11 Jan. 1922, states: Mrs. Francis Copa, 49 years old, died yesterday at Flensburg from pulmonary tuberculosis. The funeral will be held Friday at the Flensburg church and interment in the Flensburg cemetery.
