KILLED BY LIGHTINING

Mrs. Golembetski of Culdrum, During Saturday’s Electrical Storm

Mrs. Frank Golembetski (error, should be Joseph Golebiewski), wife of a farmer living in the east end of Culdrum town, about a mile and a half south of Flensburg, was instantly killed at about 4 o’clock Saturday afternoon by lightning.

Mrs. Golembetski had been out of doors for a pail of water and as she opened the door to go to the house the building was struck by lightning, quite a severe electrical storm prevailing at that time. Mrs. Golembetski was struck and she was thrown quite a distance into the yard and instantly killed. The lightning went down the chimney, completely demolishing it. Two of the children received quite severe shocks, but were not dangerously hurt.

The deceased leaves a husband and six small children. The funeral was held from the Polish Catholic church at Flensburg at 10 a.m. Monday.
