Alejandrina Americanized her name when she became a citizen in 1951 to Alexandra. She loved to sing when she was a young woman. I don't think she really enjoyed being a mother as my father would say she wanted to become an Opera singer, but that was unacceptable in her day and with her family. Growing up we all feared her and she lived a long time after my grandfather passed away. She was a small woman that still spoke Spanish after arriving in California in 1915 and didn't like speaking English. God be with you.
