Nancy was the first girl born to E T and Clarkey and named after her paternal grandmother, Nancy Ann Thompson and her maternal grandmother, Nancy Mae DeBow. She was but 16 years old when she left her birth place in Smith Co., Tennessee and emigrated to what would be her home for the rest of her life in Shelby Co., Texas. GBH
