COALVILLE - Opal C. Jordison, 92, of Coalville, died Thursday, February 24, 2011 at the Trinity Regional Medical Center, Fort Dodge.

Memor-ial services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, February 28, 2011 at the Community of Christ Church, Coalville. Inurnment will follow in the Fort Dodge Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 until 6 p.m. Sunday at the Bruce-Graham Funeral Home.

Opal was born August 30, 1918 the daughter of Daniel and Fern (Shay) Crouse in Laurel, Montana. Opal later received her BA in Elementary Education from Drake University. On October 11, 1941 Opal was united in marriage to Earl Jordison in Hollywood, CA.

Opal began teaching school in the rural school system and taught for several years after. She was an avid reader always furthering her own education. Opal enjoyed spending time working on crafts. Over the years Opal looked forward to working and tending to her flower garden. Opal and Earl loved vacationing and traveling. She was very active in the Retired Teachers Association and a member of the Coalville Miners. Opal was also a longtime member of the Community of Christ Church, Coalville.

Those thankful for having shared in Opal's life include her children, Dennis Earl (Rita) Jordison of Fort Dodge, Karen (Tim) McGuire of Fort Dodge, Jerry (Janine) Jordison of Elkhorn, one sister, Mabel Rye, two brothers, Lawrence (Iola) Crouse, Glenn Crouse, eight grandchildren, Mark, Taunya, Pat, Dwight, Mia, Alexa, Erika, Jonathan and nine great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Jordison was preceded in death by her parents, husband Earl, one grandson, Duane, four sisters, Bessie, Flora, Florence, Iva, three brothers, Chester, Earl and Melvin.
