Born c.1728, Eleazer Williams fought for American independence as a man in his late 40's and early 50's. The elderly veteran of the Revolutionary War also lived to see his country successfully defend itself against Great Britain a second time during the War of 1812. Predeceased by his then 76-year-old wife, Mary, at the outbreak of the war, he died at age 86 in the autumn of 1814, shortly after it ended.
His name appears on the D.A.R. Monument in the churchyard of the First Presbyterian Church of Orange, NJ, which honors Revolutionary War veterans interred there. Dedicated in 1931, this memorial consists of a bronze plaque affixed to a boulder.
