Born c.1743, Daniel Williams fought for American independence during the Revolutionary War as a man in his 30's. He lived to see the young United States defeat Great Britain a second time in the War of 1812, and died at age 79 in early January 1823.
His name appears on the D.A.R. Monument in the churchyard of the First Presbyterian Church of Orange, NJ. This memorial, which consists of a bronze plaque affixed to a boulder, was erected in 1931 to honor Revolutionary War veterans buried here.
