Indian Wars Medal of Honor Recipient. Born in 1847, at Columbus, Ohio, he served as a Private in Company G, 8th U.S. Cavalry. At the Chiricahua Mountains, Arizona, on October 29, 1869, he displayed heroism while engaging with a raiding band of hostile Apache Indians. For gallantry in action, he was promoted Corporal and awarded the Medal of Honor.
