Asa EGGLESTON / EGGLESON, III was born on 15 August 1789 at Hebron, Washington County, New York. He died on 13 May 1856 at Champion, Jefferson County, NY. He was first buried with Masonic ceremonies in a private cemetery in his neighborhood. His remains were later moved to the old Kinne Cemetery at Antwerp, Jefferson County, New York, near the graves of other family members. He was a noted stonemason.

He married Patience ROGERS, possibly on 9 January 1810 at Washington County, New York. She was born on 1 February 1795 at Hebron, Washington County, NY. She died between 1875 and 1880 at Champion, Jefferson County, New York. She was the daughter of Thomas ROGERS and Sarah Irene (CARR) ROGERS.

They had the following two children:

Note name change: EGGLESTON EGGLESON. These children and all of their ancestors went by the name EGGLESON. From this point on they and all their ancestors will be referred to as EGGLESON.

He married CONTENT HADSEL on 27 March 1787 in Oswego NY. She was born 13 March 1764 and died 13 April 1850. She was the daughter of JAMES and CONTENT WORDEN and she is buried in Antwerp, NY.

ASA was a participant in the Revolutionary War and lived at various times in Antwerp and Champion, Jefferson Co., NY.

(or HEALSULL), daughter of Joseph Hadell from Wales.
Born: March 13, 1769 Rhode Island.
Died: April 13, 1850 in town of Antwerp, Jefferson County, N.Y.

Service: Asa Eggleston enlisted at Voluntown, Conn. in the R. I. Troops, Col. Dyer's regiment, Capt. Burdick's company. During 1778 he served one and one-fourth months. In 1779 he re-enlisted as a Minute Man and served during the remainder of the war. Pension allowed on Application September 11, 1832.
Content Eggleston allowed pension July 31, 1847.
