Funeral services for Johnie Belle Pharries, 94, were held at the First Christian Church with Rev. Jason Jones, pastor officiating.

She graduated from Olney High School and attended North Texas State Normal College in Denton.

She was a homemaker and teacher and had taught school in Anarene, Abercrombie and Electra. She was a member of the First Christian Church.

Mrs. Pharries went to school in Olney to about the 9th or 10th grade, when went to North Texas Teachers College in Denton. Her first job was at Anarene and she lived at the Graham hotel operated by Mrs. Roy Graham. She had 16 students and there was only the two story Graham hotel and a grocery store at Anarene. She was teaching at Electra when she met her husband.

She and R.E. "Bob" Pharries were married 25 December 1925 in Breckenridge. He preceded her in death.

Survived by brother - W.C. Leberman of Olney; nieces and nephews including Carla Perry, Doris Morgan, Cotton Wainwright, Don Wainwright, John Wainwright, Betty Bitter and Richard Wainwright.
