GLEN FORK — Aretta Tilley-Dixon, 81, of Glen Fork, departed this life to enter her Heavenly home on Monday, Aug. 20, 2007, after an extended illness. She made her transition at her home surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Dixon resided in Wyoming County most of her life at Cabin Creek and Glen Fork.

Born April 17, 1926, at Garwood, she was the daughter of the late Manuel McBride "Manley" Tilley (1889-1972) and Louella Blankenship-Tilley (1900-1988). In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Vester Dixon (1925-1999) whom she married on November 6, 1943 in New Richmond, Wyoming County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, Wyoming County, WV, 1943, Page 255, Application Date: November 1, 1943); her sisters, Nancy America Tilley (1919-1935), Bobbi Tilley and Annis Evon Tilley-Anderson (1921-2004); and her brothers, Isaac M. Tilley (1921-1995), Acie Tilley (1936-1969), and Jonathan Tilley (1930-1976).

She is survived by three children, Lacy J. Dixon & wife Loretta Dixon of New Richmond, Roy Dixon Sr. & wife Donna Sue Dixon of Jesse and Deborah Ann Dixon-Hall-Jarvis & husband John Jarvis of Mount Lookout; four grandchildren, Mickey Dixon & wife Mischa Dixon of Ashland, KY, Wendy Lester & husband Steve Lester of Brenton, Roy Lee Dixon Jr. (1968-2020) of Mullens and Shawn Dixon at home; nine great-grandchildren, Maverick Dixon, Jake Dixon, Tiffany Trent, Selena McGee, Anna Vann, Brandon Lester, Jesse Lester, Nikkii Dixon and Cameron Dixon; and three great-great-grandchildren, Phoenyx, Adin and Araya.

She is also survived by her sisters, Sylvia Mae Tilley-Ruff (1920-2008) & husband Frank Ruff of Eastern Shores, MD, Manda Tilley-Allen (B. 1937) of Ravencliff, Marie Smith-Dansby of Sun City Center, FL, and Peggy Tilley-Adkins of McGraws; and her brothers, Donald Tilley & wife Marie Tilley of McGraws, David Tilley & wife Jean Tilley of Monroe County and Jimmie Tilley of Bell, FL.

Service will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 24, 2007 at Calfee Funeral Service Chapel, Pineville, with the Rev. Donald "Doc" Adkins officiating. The Laxton Family Singers will provide special music. Burial will follow in Pretty Ridge Cemetery, Cabin Creek.
