Email received 4/23/18 wanting to change the ORIGINAL BIO INFORMATION (listed below this post) Posting it for comparison and consideration since genealogy and line information can be a journey into the past:

Information not correct for this man. That is,
1. A. S. Barnes married Elizabeth J. aka Bettie Moss 12-22-1887. Per 1900 census they'd had 7 children born, 5 living ; per 1920 census; after wife's death, Edd remarried in 1950, however, 5 children were still in household in 1910 census.
2. Andrew S. Barnes married Salena (spelled Salalema N. Lentz) on 9-10-1905.

OBITUARY: Athens (AL) Limestone Democrat, Thursday, October 7, 1937, p. 4
Straud Barnes, a well known farmer of this county, died at Powers hospital at four o'clock Wednesday afternoon and his remains were interred at Sandlin grave yard today (Thursday). His death was due to blood poisoning.
Mr. Barnes was dressing a hog one day last week when he accidentally scratched his hand on one of the hog's tusks. He gave little attention to the slight abrasion, but blood poison set up in a day or two resulting in his death. His left arm was amputated in an effor to save his lfie.
The deceased is survived by his widow, three sons and two daughters, all of whom have the tenderest sympathy of a large circle of friends
