In Memoriam
Sister Delila Blair was born in Coffee County, Ala., in 1837. She professed faith in Christ Jesus about the year 1864 and united with the Danby Crossroads Missionary Baptist Church and about three years later she united with the Bethany Church called Primitive Baptist in the same county. her maiden name was Delila Ryals and was married to R. J. Blair Nov. 27, 1857. They moved from Coffee county to Choctaw County, Ala., and from there to Marion County, Miss., in 1901. Here she lived with her husband until her death on the 21st day of March, 1909. She leaves a husband, two sons and two daughters and quite a number of grandchildren and a host of friends and relatives to mourn her loss. She lived a consecrated christian life and died in full triumph of the faith as it is in Christ Jesus and that she was a devoted and obedient wife, a kind and affectionate mother and neighbor. She departed this life in her 72nd year and was laid to rest at the Ward Cemetery in the community in which she lived. Her husband, R. J. Blair, is a minister of the Primitive Baptist Church. her funeral was attended by a large concourse of friends and relatives, the funeral services being conducted by the writer. May God who loved and saved her, comfort her bereaved loved ones and keep them until one by one they are called to join her in the home where all tears are dried and where loved ones part no more. We extend our heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved. Brother be comforted, she has gone to that happy home in the beyond awaiting thine arrival in the sweet bye and bye. "A precious one from us is gone, A voice we loved is still, A place is vacant in our home, Which never can be filled."
