5th generation Brown: Joshua, Jr. was the son of Joshua Brown, Sr. and Hannah Pollow. He was born August 26, 1747 (SOURCE: THE LIBBY FAMILY 1602-1881 - PAGE 73).Other sources show his birth as Sept. 15, 1747 (which agrees with his stone, which says "78 years and 4 mos".

Joshua married Esther Dam on July 16, 1778. They resided in Raymond. Esther is a Libby #11-7-5-1 and the daughter of John Dam of Kittery and Abigail Libby #11-7-5. She was their first child and born June 23, 1757.

A special thank you to Ben York for Joshua's civil war record. Joshua enlisted in the Rev. War on November 13, 1779. He was an army private with Lieutenant Kellock's Company, at Camden, ME. He was discharged on February 13, 1780. SOURCE: MASS. SOLIDERS & SAILORS, REV. WAR, VOL 2, PAGE 660.

They had a son named Benjamin Brown, born Dec. 4, 1781, who resided in Baldwin, ME and acquired the "Brown Homestead of Convene, ME". Later Benjamin moved to
