Erick Glad, 85, died at his home in Stratford Friday. Services were Tuesday in the Stratford Lutheran Church with burial in the South Marion Cemetery. Hanson-Stark-Welin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include a son Gunnar William of Los Angeles, Calif., numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Glad was born May 11, 1895 at Leksand, Dalarna, Sweden, the son of Peter Larsson Glad and Karin Andersdotter Glad. In 1917 he came to the United States and farmed northeast of Stratford, near Bell's Mill until his retirement.
He married Bessie H. Anderson at the Methodist parsonage in Webster City on Nov. 11, 1920.
He belonged to the Izaak Walton League at Stratford and a member of the Stratford Lutheran Church.
