A retired truck driver for Kansas City Southern Railroad, he died at 2:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011, at his home in Addis. He was 84, a U.S. Navy veteran who was stationed in Ellis Island, N.Y., and a native of Bayou Goula. Visiting at Hall's Celebration Center on Friday, March 4, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Visiting at Franklin Avenue Baptist Church, 2515 Franklin Ave., on Saturday, March 5, from 10 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by Pastor Fred Luter Jr. Interment in Mount Olivet Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Dandridge; daughters, Dorothy Elaine Morton and husband Charles, Mourdia Marie Payne, Shelia Ann Davis, Sabra Vanessa Young and husband Gregg, Lisa Monique Ann Dandridge and Jennifer Patrice Dandridge; sons, Louis III and wife Esmeralda Infanti, Alvin and wife Elke Reifschneider, and Darrell Bené and wife Dr. Lynette Thompson; 19 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Louis Dandridge Sr.; mother, Virginia Lorenza Dandridge; a sister, Florestine Douglas; and brothers, Albert Dandridge and the Rev. Joseph Dandridge.
