Virginia Beach, VA - Ada Basnight Stevenson, 73, of Virginia Beach, passed away on Tuesday, February 22, 2011. Born in Columbia, NC, she was the daughter of the late Alvie and Kathleen Basnight. Fondly known as "Miss Ada", she was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church, Virginia Beach. She was the Vice-President and Secretary-Treasure of Stevenson Tractor for 43 years. During her tenure, her responsibilities in the company were limitless, she did everything. She will be remembered for her love of boating, tennis, golf and gardening. A traveler, she traveled throughout the world, enjoying history and foreign cultures. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and sister, she put her family and friends before herself.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 57 years, W. D. "Billy" Stevenson, Sr., three children, Darlene Stevenson, Cheryl Stevenson, David Stevenson, Jr. and wife Kathy; two grandsons; two granddaughters; four great-granddaughters and three great-grandsons; as well as a sister, Katie Hassell and husband Charles.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 26, 2011 in the Great Bridge Chapel of Oman Funeral Home & Crematory. Rev. Danny Kesner will officiate. The interment will follow in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens.

Flowers are welcome, memorial contributions may be made to Chesapeake Hospice, 667 Kingsborough Square, Chesapeake, VA 23320.
