Mrs. Edith Pitchford, nee Sansom, departed this life Jan. 10, 1910, aged 24 years, 1 month and 23 days. The cause of death was typhoid fever.

She was the daughter of Samuel and Sarah Sansom of Irvington, a suburb of Lafayette, and was married on Aug. 2, 1902, to Mr. William E. Pitchford.

She leaves behind to mourn their loss the husband, two little boys, the father and mother, and the following brothers and sisters: Henry Sansom and Mrs. Louise Parkin of Frederick, Colo., John Sansom and Mrs. Mary E. Parkin of Johnstown, Colo., Samuel Sansom of Gilchrist, Colo., Miss Josie Sansom of Irvington, and Mrs. Sarah Webber of Lafayette.

God's unsearchable ways make it impossible for us to understand why a young wife and mother should be taken away from her loved ones, but we know that God is good and that we can look up and believe that some day we will understand.

The funeral service was conducted in the Congregational church by the pastor, and the body was laid to rest in the Lafayette cemetery, Undertaker R. R. Powell, officiating.

The large number of persons attending the funeral spoke of the high esteem in which the deceased was held in the community.
