Mrs. Marietta Ray Montgomery, age 68, Brandenburg, KY, passed away on Friday, February 25, 2011, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY. Mrs. Montgomery was a member of Free Gospel Mission Church in Louisville, KY. She was preceded in death by her parents, Garnie, Sr., and Iona Purtilar Ray, a son, Kevin Ray Johnson, two daughters, Patricia Ilene and Kathy Doreen Montgomery, a grandson, Ryan Jay, a sister, Ruth Mae Bachman and two brothers, Pete and Phillip Ray. Mrs. Montgomery is survived by her husband, William "Bill" Montgomery, Brandenburg, KY, two children, Denise (Rick) Gibson, Shannon (Missy) Montgomery, both of Louisville, KY, three step children, Melissa Gayle Montgomery, William Montgomery, Jr., both of Campbellsville, KY, Raymond Jay (Veda) Montgomery, Greensburg, KY, two brothers, Garnie (Dolores) Ray, Jr., Battletown, KY, Jim (Betsy) Ray, FL, nine grandchildren, Tara, Cody, Morgan, Shannon, Jr., Bryan, Ashley, Christin, Brandon and Brianna, two great grandchildren, Kevin and Kayden and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, from the chapel of the Hager Funeral Home, with burial in Risinger Cemetery, Louisville, KY. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12:00 Noon until 8:00 PM on Monday. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Kosair Charities.
