Mrs. Rachel Wolfgang, 91, Former Brodbeck Area Resident, Dies
Brodbeck – Mrs. Rachel Utz Wolfgang, 91, formerly of Brodbeck RD 1, died at 4:45 p.m. yesterday at the Brethren Home, Cross Keys, where she had been a guest the past five years.
Mrs. Wolfgang, who resided in this area for 56 years, was a member of the United Church of Christ congregation of St. Jacob’s (Stone) Union Church, near Glenville. She was the widow of Lewis Wolfgang.
Surviving are 11 children, George U. and John H. Wolfgang and Mrs. Cletus Zumbrum, all of Brodbeck RD 1; Willis A. Wolfgang, Jefferson; Mrs. Joseph Hurley and Mrs. Chester Kohler, both of Parkton; Mrs. Russell Hilker, Glen Rock RD 1; Jacob W. Wolfgang, Red Lion RD 2; Mrs. Richard Hershey and Mrs. Luther Bossom, both of Hanover, and Lewis A. Wolfgang, Hallam; 37 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren; a brother, Clinton Utz, and a sister, Mrs. Maggie Wildasin, both of Hanover.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Geiple Funeral Home, Glen Rock. Mrs. Wolfgang’s pastor, Rev. George A. Heisey, will officiate. Interment will be in St. Jacob’s (Stone) Church Cemetery.
