Robert Cockrill aged 44 years, a bachelor committed suicide at the home of his brother, Wilks Cockrill in Sage Township, Monday night. A jury empanelled to investigate the cause of death returned a verdict that "The deceased come to his death by a gunshot wound, being the act of his own hand". The body was laid to rest in the Caney Springs Cemetery Tuesday afternoon at about 5 o'clock, Eld. J. M. Rush conducting the funeral services.
