Apr 19, 1945 – Fall From Auto Kills Former Sage Resident

James Wilkes Crockrill, aged 68, former resident of Sage, died at Newport hospital Saturday afternoon of a fractured skull suffered when he fell from a car on the highway near Newport. Mr Crockrill was a native of Tennessee but lived at Sage for many years. He left there about 12 years ago and at the time of his death was making his home with a daughter, Mrs Nellie Barnwell at Newport. Surviving are two other daughters, Mrs Maxine Johnson of Ward and Miss Ruth Crockrill of Sage and six sons, John of Newport, Guy of Sage, Woodrow of Senath, Mo., and Douglas, Remmel and Billie Rex all of the armed services. Funeral services were conducted at the Sage Baptist Church Wednesday afternoon and burial was at the Caney Springs Cemetery
